Taiko Workshop for Special populations with Triangle Taiko

Triangle Taiko and Raleigh Parks and Recreation and Cultural Resources collaborate to present a Taiko Japanese drumming workshop for individuals with special needs. Taiko is a very ceremonial and dramatic form of drumming utilizing traditional Japanese dress and rather large and loud drums. Participants will learn several simple rhythms leading up to a traditional style Taiko song. This is open to previous and new drummers alike. Individuals need to have some coordination, the ability to follow directions, a desire to play drums and perform, and be able to handle the loud volume level of the drums.

Dates: no workshop is planned at this time
Location: Carolina Pines Community Center at 2305 Lake Wheeler Rd Raleigh NC 27603
Dress: Wear comfortable clothes because there will be lots of movement
Cost: This is a free program.
